Dr Bevan Morris explained the inevitability of permanent world peace yesterday. Discover what he said ...
Permanent world peace is not a fantasy, but a real possibility.
In fact its inevitable, according to Dr Morris. He started by outlining the extraordinary events and planning of early 2008 when Maharishi Mahesh Yogi actually foresaw his life was coming to a close.
As you know, Maharishi spent his life working to ease human suffering, and his Transcendental Meditation technique has been an inestimable boon for millions. It is not as widely own that his underlying motive was the creation of no less than permanent world peace – heavenly life on earth.
Those who are fortunate enough to have learned Transcendental Meditation find it unsurprising that scientific research has repeatedly shown that permanent world peace is actually quite feasible – and not only this but it is actually quite simple in principle.
One requirement is the establishment of large groups of people practicing Trancendental Meditation and its advanced programs the T M Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying. Another is the recitation of the Vedas by large groups of Vedic Pandits.
These ancient Vedic technologies of peace, Yog and Yagya, generate harmony and coherence in collective consciousness. This is the opposite of the palpable tension in the air of a room where people are stressed, negative, hostile and combative.
Coherence in collective consciousness leads to more peaceful and positive trends in society and reductions in crime, violence, terrorism and war.
Many of us in Doctor Morris’s large audience at the Old Edwardian Society this brilliant sunny Sunday morning have been watching these developments for our entire adult lives. That is, since 1961, when Maharishi first predicted this phenomenon, and the mid-’70s when the first research started to support his extraordinary vision. This phenomenon of reduced crime and violence in the vicinity of coherence-creating groups is known as the Maharishi Effect. We have seen it happen hundreds of times, and the time has now come for us all to take it more seriously.
Maharishi called on 11 January 2008, expressing concern his knowledge would be lost, like the knowledge of Lord Buddha, which is said to have survived only 300 years after his passing. In the case of the Transcendental Meditation movement, we have 30,000 hours of video of Maharishi’s discourses. Doctor Morris explained how this immense resource has been digitised, sometimes even entailing resuscitating of video equipment in technology museums. So this time it will be different. 1000 years from now we will still have the videos.
Doctor Morris explained Maharishi’s plan to house 16,000 yogic flyers at the silent centre of India, near Jabalpur. These are very special yogic flyers, being Maharishi Vedic Pandits.
The first goal is to support a group of 9,000, the square root of one percent of the world’s population. Scientific research has found that this number is sufficient to produce this powerful positive effect for the whole world.
Over the past 10 years, 1,770 acres were purchased at the geographical centre, or Brahmasthan, of India. A village for 2,200 pandits has been built along the principles of Maharishi Vastu, a system of Vedic architecture.
Currently 1,600 fully trained Maharishi Vedic Pandits live there, and construction for another 6,800 pandits has begun. In addition there are 4,300 student pandits in training in 24 regional centres.
This vital project is to create a group of 9,000 pandits living permanently at the Brahmasthan of India and performing Maharishi Yagyas for world peace as soon as possible.
And this was only the first hour of this extraordinary presentation!
If you would like to support this project you could do it online at www.vedicpandits.org/donate. We do, and the administration is very efficient – we get a receipt every month and we enjoy all the blessings that flow from such a sublime undertaking.

To me it was a wonderful day. Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of The Global Country of World Peace is a shining light, not only that, he radiates infinity and bliss, one feels completely at home with him around. We were also privileged to have him visit our Pretoria TM Centre. He filled our offices, TM Centre and home with bliss and love. A really, truly Enlightened Being. A great honour to have him visit South Africa and an unspeakable experience to have been in his presence. A real ‘Big Brother’ for our movement.
The day was very inspiring and as a pre-school teacher it was particularly interesting to hear first hand about the school in Fairfield. As a new meditator it was humbling to hear about people that are meditating for world peace and not just to cure stress and migraines. It made me think about the bigger picture and I hope to be able to learn more about TM in education as I continue my spiritual journey.
Thank you so much
It was a great day. Very well organised – thanks to Vick and Richard. Lunch was very enjoyable.
I learnt a lot from Dr. Bevan Morris about things that are taking place around the world – very enlightening!!
Thank you RHODA
Obviously Dr Morris is a deceptively enlightened person and I found his messages touching me in different ways. It was very interesting to hear about the movement in different countries. It was interesting to be in his presence, knowing him without knowing him. Almost like one has always known him.
I feel that there was more shared than the obvious. Maharishi’s compassionate presence was so radiating throughout the day and evening. Watching Dr Bevan Morris speaking, one could not help noticing the seamless pouring of knowledge, that I may not yet fully comprehend. Back to what I term obvious; Governments worldwide can learn from Maharishi how to initiate self-sustainable programmes in all areas of society, if they choose. I loved it.
I am grateful to have attended this momentous event and wish to thank the TM Centre Houghton for successfully facilitating this seminar with Dr. Bevan Morris.
The day was indeed an eye opener for me – it was very informative. I guess I have been allowing my sceptical human side to overshadow what is possible. I live with excitement and anticipation to see the world change for the better.
Heartfelt inspiration; infinite candour and stomach tiring humour. Dr Morris is a gift.
I was there and I loved it. Very profound and inspiring.
